Former SriLankan Airlines CEO Kapila Chandrasena was found dead under suspicious circumstances at his residence in Kollupitiya, police stated.

The incident occurred a day after the Colombo Chief Magistrate issued a warrant for his arrest over allegations of violating bail conditions by submitting unsuitable sureties.

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) had also sought to revoke his bail and remand him until the conclusion of the trial.

Police investigations are ongoing.
