India’s Foreign Minister, S. Jaishankar, arrived in Colombo today (20)for his first visit in the new term. He was warmly welcomed by State Minister of Foreign Affairs Tharaka Balasuriya and Governor of Eastern Province Senthil Thondaman.
Minister Jaishankar expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming discussions with Sri Lankan leadership, emphasising the importance of Sri Lanka in India's "Neighborhood First" and "Security and Growth for All in the Region" (SAGAR) policies.
The visit is expected to cover a range of topics including regional security, economic collaboration, and enhancing mutual support in various sectors.
