Energy Minister Kumara Jayakody stated in Parliament today(05) that electricity tariffs will be reduced by 30% within three years.

He noted that the average cost of generating a unit of electricity has been reduced from Rs. 37 to Rs. 29.

The Minister stated that further reductions depend on lowering generation costs, with a target of Rs. 25 per unit.

He noted that achieving this target will enable the promised reduction in electricity bills.
