Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage has temporarily suspended the registrations of the Sri Lanka Handball Federation, Sri Lanka Carrom Federation and Sri Lanka Hockey Federation.

An Extraordinary Gazette states that the Secretary to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports will oversee the administration of the three federations from 19 May 2026.

The move was made to facilitate constitutional amendments and conduct elections for new office-bearers.

The arrangement will remain in place until Annual General Meetings are held and new officials are elected.
