The 2026 G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination will begin on August 10 and continue until September 5 at 2,532 centres across Sri Lanka, Commissioner General of Examinations Indika Kumari Liyanage stated.
A total of 372,310 candidates will sit the examination, including 264,496 school candidates and 107,814 private candidates.
Candidates have been advised to arrive at least one hour early and carry a valid NIC, driving licence or passport. Mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices and notes are prohibited in examination halls.
The Department of Examinations has also warned candidates against examination malpractice and urged them to follow all examination rules.
