Journalist Darshana Handunhoda, 55, of the popular YouTube channel SL Deshaya, has passed away after receiving treatment for an illness.

He died today morning (10) at the National Hospital Colombo.

Widely known for his hard-hitting political vlogs and critical commentary on national issues, Handunhoda had a strong online following.

Funeral details will be announced later.
