The Ministry of Finance appointed a committee, led by Deputy Treasury Secretary A.K. Senaviratne, to investigate the release of 323 imported containers without customs inspection.

Accordingly, the committee includes officials from the Ministry of Transport, Trade and Investment Policy, Management Audit, and Sri Lanka Customs.

Sri Lanka Customs completed a 4-day operation to clear a backlog of containers at the port, ensuring swift processing of accumulated shipments.
