The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) has announced its withdrawal from the ‘Arogya’ project launched by the Ministry of Health, with effect from today (02).
GMOA Assistant Secretary Dr. Hansamal Weerasuriya stated that the decision was taken due to the government’s failure to provide a satisfactory response to their demands.
He questioned the transparency, feasibility and objectives of the project, noting concerns over possible political motives.
The GMOA is currently engaged in seven other trade union actions.
