The Cabinet of Ministers has approved Sri Lanka’s co-hosting of the 2026 Asian Regional Debt Management Conference, organised annually by the Asian Development Bank, scheduled for the end of May 2026.

The 4-5 day conference will include surveys and technical workshops on public debt management, with participation from finance ministries, central banks, debt management offices and other relevant institutions across member countries.

Hosting the event is expected to enhance Sri Lanka’s international standing in debt management, strengthen bilateral and regional ties, and promote knowledge sharing and capacity building in debt management operations.
