The National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU) says the number of dengue cases reported in the Western Province is nearing 35,000, making it the worst-affected province.

A total of 66,064 dengue cases and 46 deaths have been reported across Sri Lanka so far this year.

The highest numbers have been recorded in the Gampaha and Colombo districts, followed by Matara and Kalutara.
