The Department of Meteorology has issued an “Amber” advisory for strong winds and rough seas in the sea areas from Hambantota to Pottuvil.

The sea areas off the coast may be rough at times, with strong gusty winds of up to 50–60 kmph.

Naval and fishing communities have been urged to remain vigilant.
