Parliament will take the third reading vote on the 2026 Appropriation Bill at 6 p.m. today(05), the Department of Communication stated.
The Budget’s second reading, presented on 07 November by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake as finance minister, passed on 14 November with 160 votes in favour, 42 against and eight abstentions.
Although seventeen days were allocated for the committee-stage debate, several sessions were adjourned due to adverse weather.
A supplementary estimate has also been submitted to provide relief for communities affected by Cyclone Ditwah.
