President Anura Kumara Dissanayake today (1) inaugurated the 63rd General Assembly of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) in Colombo.

Representatives from 225 media organisations across 66 countries are attending the assembly.

Discussions are expected to cover regional broadcasting developments, sports broadcasting, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and emerging challenges in the media industry.

Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath, foreign ambassadors, government officials and media industry representatives were also present.
