The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber advisory for strong winds and rough seas in several sea areas around Sri Lanka.

Gusty winds of up to 50–60 kmph are expected, while wave heights could reach 2–3 metres in some sea areas.

Naval and fishing communities have been advised to remain vigilant.
