Sarvajana Balaya leader MP Dilith Jayaweera has urged the government to prioritise economic recovery over political agendas.

Speaking during the parliamentary debate on the Negombo Prison unrest, he stated that the incident highlighted broader social and structural issues.

Jayaweera also raised concerns over external debt, trade imbalances, investment, employment and social challenges.

He called on all political parties to work together to promote economic growth, job creation and social stability.
