The Cabinet of Ministers has approved financial assistance to rebuild and rehabilitate places of worship damaged by Cyclone Ditwah.

Cabinet Spokesman Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa stated that up to Rs. 7.5 million will be provided for fully destroyed sites suitable for reconstruction.

He noted that up to Rs. 5 million will be allocated for partially damaged religious institutions, while minor damages will also receive assistance.

The programme covers reconstruction of temples, kovils, churches and related facilities.
