The Ampara District Special Coordinating Committee meeting will be held this afternoon (22) at the auditorium of the Ampara District Secretariat under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. 

Construction work on the Nintavur Cultural Centre, which had remained incomplete for several years, recommenced under the President’s patronage with a Rs. 300 million allocation from the 2026 Budget.

The project is expected to be completed by December 2027 at an estimated total cost of Rs. 945 million.

Construction of the Ampara Multi-Purpose Town Hall also commenced today, with the project estimated to cost Rs. 1.74 billion and scheduled for completion by December 2028.
