The final rites of Ranga Nishantha Rajapaksa, Assistant Director of the External Resources Department under the Ministry of Finance, are scheduled to be held this evening (02).

Rajapaksa was found dead at his residence in Kuliyapitiya on April 30 while under suspension over an alleged $2.5 million cyber fraud.

Initial investigations treated the incident as a suspicious death, with authorities probing whether it was a homicide, suicide, or accidental.

However, a panel of four Judicial Medical Consultants later confirmed that the death was a suicide resulting from self-inflicted injuries.
