Three spill gates at the Laxapana Reservoir and two at the Canyon Reservoir have been opened following continuous heavy rainfall in their catchment areas.

Reservoir engineers stated that the Laxapana Reservoir’s water level has risen significantly due to the persistent rain.

The Wimalasurendra Reservoir is also continuing to spill over, while water levels in the Kelani River have increased due to the combined effect.
