Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa stated that opposition party leaders have requested an urgent parliamentary debate on the ongoing rupee crisis.

In a post on X, Premadasa noted that he and several party leaders met Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne to make the request.

He stated that the Sri Lankan Rupee is under significant pressure and claimed there are no clear solutions currently being presented to address the situation.

Premadasa further noted that immediate action is needed before the economic situation worsens.
