The Cabinet has approved the construction of a new residential rehab facility in Peradeniya to treat youth under 21 addicted to drugs.

The existing centre in Handessa currently accommodates only 35 individuals, forcing a waitlist for admissions.

The new building, funded with Rs. 110 million under the Clean Sri Lanka programme aims to expand and accelerate treatment for affected youth.
