The Colombo High Court resumed hearings today (26) in the bribery case against former Minister Johnston Fernando and two others, filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).

The charges allege that Fernando, during his time as Minister of Cooperatives and Internal Trade, misused 153 employees of Lanka Sathosa for political purposes between 2010 and 2014, causing a Rs. 40 million loss to the state.

The case, taken up before High Court Judge Aditya Patabendige, included the recording of witness evidence before being adjourned for further hearing.
