Sri Lanka has recorded 67,174 dengue cases and 47 related deaths so far this year, according to the National Dengue Control Unit.

Acting Director Dr. Kapila Kannangara said 10,685 cases were reported during the first nine days of July, including around 1,110 cases yesterday.

Health authorities warned that several major hospitals have reached capacity due to the surge in dengue patients.
