The Malwathu Maha Viharaya has denied reports claiming former President Mahinda Rajapaksa requested the Chief Prelate to intervene in matters involving Shiranthi Rajapaksa. 

The Deputy Registrar stated no such meeting or call occurred and warned that legal action will be taken against those spreading false news to incite public unrest.
