The Court of Appeal has issued an open warrant for the arrest and production before court of Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero, who is currently serving a prison sentence for contempt of court.

The court has also imposed a travel ban preventing Gnanasara Thero from leaving the country and ordered that the Controller General of Immigration and Emigration be informed.

The warrant is to be enforced through the Inspector General of Police.
