The Department of Meteorology has forecast showers or thundershowers in most parts of the island after 1.00 p.m. today (2).

Rainfall exceeding 50 mm is possible in parts of the Sabaragamuwa, Central and North Central provinces, as well as the Trincomalee and Mullaitivu districts.

Showers are also expected in the Western and Southern provinces during the morning.

The public has been advised to take precautions against temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers. Misty conditions are also expected in several areas during the early morning.
