Prime Minister(PM) Harini Amarasuriya highlighted the importance of recognising women’s unpaid care work during an International Women’s Day event at the Asian Development Bank headquarters in Manila.

She noted that policies and social protection systems are needed to acknowledge care work and support women’s participation in the economy.

The Prime Minister also received the Shireen Lateef Women’s Leadership Award at the event.
