The Sri Lanka Navy has arrested 12 individuals in Mannar for allegedly smuggling more than 14,000 sea cucumbers without the required permits.

The operation resulted in the seizure of 14,072 sea cucumbers, along with three dinghies and two motorcycles.

The suspects and seized items were handed over to the Mannar Assistant Directorate of Fisheries for further legal action.
