A special insurance scheme has been introduced for those engaged in lagoon and inland fishing, offering Rs. 1.2 million in compensation for accidental death. 

For an annual premium of Rs. 2,000, the policy also covers partial or total disability, including accidents occurring outside active fishing hours.
