The Government of India has launched a large-scale humanitarian relief mission, Operation Sagar Bandhu, to assist Sri Lanka in the aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah, which caused widespread destruction across several parts of the island.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences and reaffirmed India’s support through a message posted on X, stating that New Delhi stands ready to provide all necessary assistance as Sri Lanka recovers from the disaster.
