Sri Lanka all-rounder Dunith Wellalage is set to captain the Sri Lanka ‘A’ team at the Rising Asia Cup in Doha, Qatar, from 14 November to 23 November.

The decision to omit the 21-year-old from the main squad for the Pakistan tour aims to provide him with vital leadership and match exposure.

Wellalage will be joined by hard-hitting batsman Vishen Halambage, along with young spinners Travin Mathews and Vijayakanth Viyaskanth, as selectors track future white-ball prospects.
