The Parliamentary Sectoral Oversight Committee on Infrastructure and Strategic Development reviewed several proposals submitted by the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) on the Sri Lanka Electricity (Amendment) Bill.

The committee meeting, chaired by MP S. M. Marikkar, saw participation from officials of the Ministry of Energy, the Attorney General’s (AG) Department, and the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB).

After extensive discussions, it was agreed to incorporate amendments and present the revised Bill in all three official languages for committee approval on 17 July.

MPs Kabir Hashim, Nalin Bandara Jayamaha, Ajith P. Perera, Asitha Niroshana Egoda Withana, Geetha Herath, and Ravindra Bandara were among those in attendance.
