Police have confirmed that Ishara Sewwandi, the main suspect in the murder of underworld figure Ganemulle Sanjeewa, will be brought back to Sri Lanka from Nepal by tomorrow (15) along with five others arrested with her.
The suspects were captured about 18 km from Kathmandu in a joint operation involving Sri Lanka’s CID, Western Province North Crimes Division, and Nepalese security forces.
Those arrested include two residents from Gampaha and Nugegoda and a couple from Jaffna.
Sanjeewa Kumara Samararathna, known as “Ganemulle Sanjeewa,”was shot dead at the Hulftsdorp No. 05 Court Complex on 19 February. Sewwandi fled the country following the killing.
