President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has stated that the government aims to raise Sri Lanka's healthcare sector to internationally recognised standards.

He noted that the government is prepared to allocate the necessary funding to achieve this objective.

The remarks were made during a pre-Budget discussion on the Ministry of Health and Mass Media at the Presidential Secretariat.

The meeting reviewed progress under the 2026 Budget and discussed proposals for the 2027 Budget.
