Azur Air inaugurated direct seasonal flights to Sri Lanka, bringing 332 passengers who were welcomed at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) yesterday (6).
Sri Lanka Tourism celebrated its arrival with a traditional Kandyan dance performance, marking a warm and vibrant introduction for visitors.
In 2023, Azur Air direct charter flights to Sri Lanka were launched; the first flight arrived at BIA with 332 passengers. Moreover, Azur Air was scheduled to operate four flights per week from Venukov, Tolmachev, Kranoyarsk and St. Petersburg of Russia.
Moreover, Azur Air is the largest charter carrier and former regional airline in Russia.
The airline started operations in 1995 and operates regional flights out of Krasnoyarsk. The company began operating under the Azur Air brand in December 2014.
Nowadays it mainly serves leisure destinations such as the route Moscow to Bodrum, offering an all-business class charter.
