A total of 54 foreign nationals were arrested at a tourist hotel in Dodanduwa, Hikkaduwa on suspicion of involvement in cyber-related criminal activities, the Special Task Force noted.

The suspects include 35 Indian nationals and 19 Nepali nationals.

The arrests were made during a joint operation conducted by the STF Southern Province Special Raid Unit and Sri Lanka Police following intelligence information received by the Boossa Army Camp.

Authorities also recovered nearly 200 mobile phones and 25 laptop computers, while further investigations are being carried out by Hikkaduwa Police and the Computer Crime Investigation Division.
