President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has appointed J. M. U. K. Jayasekera as the new Chief Secretary of the Sabaragamuwa Province.

A Special Grade officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, Jayasekera previously served as Secretary to the Ministry of Sports, Youth Affairs, Tourism, Transport, Cultural Affairs and Small Industries of the Uva Provincial Council, and has held several senior administrative positions, including Acting Commissioner General of the Department of Motor Traffic.
