The Government has allocated Rs. 15 billion for a diesel subsidy in October as part of a three-month relief package aimed at easing the impact of rising global fuel prices.

The subsidy will apply to auto diesel and industrial diesel, with a total of Rs. 40.65 billion allocated for the period from October to December.

Of the total allocation, Rs. 15 billion will be provided in October, Rs. 13.5 billion in November and Rs. 12.15 billion in December.

Cabinet approval has been granted for the funding, with the Government stating that the measure aims to prevent domestic diesel prices from rising in line with international market prices.
