Kanchana Banagoda has been promoted from Vice Admiral to the rank of Admiral.

Admiral Banagoda, the 26th Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, is scheduled to retire on 1 July.

He assumed duties as Navy Commander on 31 December 2024.
