Minister of Health Nalinda Jayatissa told Parliament today (21) that the government has not taken any decision to revoke vehicle passes issued to doctors and lawyers, dismissing recent reports on the matter.

He emphasized that vehicle passes are essential for doctors, as they allow hospital security to easily identify their vehicles and grant quick access, especially during emergencies. 

Responding to a query raised by MP Rohitha Abeygunawardena, the Minister clarified that neither the Police nor the Department of Motor Traffic has made any move to withdraw these passes.
