State of Public Emergency extended in Sri Lanka

The State of Public Emergency in Sri Lanka has been extended with effect from today(28), according to an extraordinary gazette issued by the Secretary to the President. 


The declaration was made to ensure public safety, maintain normalcy and safeguard the uninterrupted supply of essential goods and services. 


Authorities stated that the extension is aimed at preserving stability and ensuring the continued functioning of key services required for daily life.
