5 new ambassadors and one high commissioner officially presented their credentials to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, marking a significant step in strengthening Sri Lanka’s foreign relations.
Among them was Kazakhstan’s Ambassador Sergey Viktorov, marking the establishment of Kazakhstan’s first embassy in Sri Lanka—also the first Central Asian embassy in the country.
The newly appointed diplomats represent Eritrea, Fiji, Uzbekistan, Jordan, Bhutan, and Kazakhstan, with most residents in regional capitals such as New Delhi, Dhaka, and Islamabad.
Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath and Presidential Secretary Nandika Sanath Kumanayake attended the ceremony held at the Presidential Secretariat.
