The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal to develop 200 MW floating solar projects on the Samanalawewa reservoir.
Minister of Power and Energy, Kanchana Wijesekara, announced this decision today (25).
Expressions of interest (EOIs) will be sought for two projects, each with a capacity of 100 MW, from international and local developers who wish to invest in these floating solar power plants.
