Residents in Oyamaduwa have blocked the Anuradhapura to Thanthirimale road, protesting the relocation of elephants to the area, which they claim has caused severe crop damage. 

The protest, which began at 7:00 am today (30), saw demonstrators displaying damaged crops. 

Police efforts to disperse the protest have been unsuccessful.
