The Endometriosis Support and Awareness Foundation (ESAF), in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of Colombo North, will host Run For Her 2026 on 24 May at Independence Square, Colombo, to raise awareness about endometriosis and promote greater public understanding of menstrual health.
The advocacy event will feature a 5km run and a 2km walk beginning at 7 a.m., bringing together participants in support of women affected by the condition.
Organisers said the initiative aims to address misconceptions surrounding endometriosis, a chronic condition that affects millions of women worldwide and is often overlooked or misdiagnosed.
ESAF founder Rashani Meegama, a Stage 4 Endometriosis survivor, said her personal experience inspired the foundation’s efforts to support women through awareness and access to information.
“Endometriosis cannot be wiped away, but accurate information can make the biggest difference in an endo woman’s quality of life,” she said.
World-renowned marine biologist and pioneer Asha de Vos will join Run For Her as chief guest.
As part of the awareness campaign, organisers have opened free registration for school and university students in an effort to encourage early conversations around menstrual health and reproductive wellbeing.
According to ESAF, the foundation focuses on providing women with medical information, awareness resources and lifestyle support related to endometriosis and women’s health.
The event is scheduled to take place at Independence Square, Colombo, from 7 a.m. onwards on Sunday, 24 May. General registrations are available through TicketsMinistry, while school and university students are eligible for free registration through a dedicated online application process.
