Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya stated that "SRI LANKA MICE EXPO 2025" is a valuable platform to bring the country's name to the global stage, positioning it as a unique hub for international business events. 

The Prime Minister made these remarks at the inauguration ceremony of the exhibition, held today (23) at Cinnamon Life Hotel, Colombo.

The five-day event, organized by the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau, aims to establish the island as a leading destination in the "MICE" (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) sector.

The exhibition features the participation of 100 representatives from 30 countries.

Dr. Amarasuriya highlighted that tourism continues to play a vital role in the national economy, having generated USD 3.1 billion in revenue in 2024 and reaching USD 2.3 billion by August of this year. 

She further emphasized that Sri Lanka’s strategic geographical location, diverse natural beauty, and cultural heritage provide a remarkable experience for international business communities.
