The Sri Lanka Navy rescued two fishermen after their fishing trawler ran out of fuel and drifted off the northern coast of Mannar today (21).

The vessel had failed to return to Gurunagar fisheries harbour in Jaffna after setting out on 19 September.

A Navy search operation located the trawler north of Talaimannar. The two fishermen were rescued safely, and the vessel was towed back to Talaimannar.
