Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya says Poson Poya is a reminder that compassion, discipline and moral values are essential to building a prosperous society.

In her Poson message, the Prime Minister said economic progress alone is not enough and called for a society founded on compassion, equality, responsibility and social harmony.

She extended Poson wishes for peace, wisdom and prosperity to Buddhist devotees.
