A workshop for subject officers in the Southern Province was held at the Matara District Secretariat as part of a broader effort to decentralize the operations of the President’s Fund.
The initiative follows the successful island-wide rollout of medical aid applications through Divisional Secretariats, with similar workshops already held in the Northern and Eastern provinces.
Senior Additional Secretary to the President, Roshan Gamage, and other officials guided participants on the Fund’s digital systems, application procedures, and service delivery.
The President’s Fund, once limited to Colombo, now offers broader services including medical assistance, educational scholarships, disaster relief, and support for marginalized communities, marking a major step toward regional accessibility.
