A large number of “Poson Dansals” have been registered ahead of the upcoming Poson Poya, the Public Health Inspectors’ Union of Sri Lanka said.
Acting President Upul Rohana said registrations are higher than during Vesak, with many reported from the North Central Province.
He urged organisers to avoid plastic and polythene use and ensure proper food safety in items served at dansals.
He also warned that improper disposal of plastic waste could increase dengue mosquito breeding during the ongoing dengue risk period.
